Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery systems down

Orthopedic

All external computer systems at Vancouver, Wash.-based Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery have been shut down since Feb. 5, according to a Feb. 8 report from The Columbian.

As of Feb. 7, all patient and scheduling portals were unavailable, according to the report. The provider has yet to confirm if the outage is due to a cyberattack or data breach.

In 2018, the provider suffered a breach that compromised the data of about 2,800 patients; Rebound did not report the incident to patients for five months, the report said.

"Our electronic systems are experiencing technical difficulties," a notice on Rebound's website read. "Phone service and response times will be temporarily delayed. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Patients calling to schedule an appointment hear an automated message that states, "Unfortunately, our systems are still down. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working around the clock to get our systems back up."

Though patients cannot schedule new appointments, all locations are open and fulfilling existing appointments.
