County officials have announced plans to purchase the former Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery in Chattanooga, Tenn., according to a Dec. 14 report from chattanoogan.com.
The property may be suitable for a new forensics center, according to the report. The property is currently listed for $2.65 million, near the same price it sold for in 2009.
The 13,000-square-foot facility opened as Center's orthopedic and sports medicine ASC in 2014, but it has since closed down.
The Center for Sports Medicine currently has 11 operational facilities in the state, including sports therapy locations and an ASC. Five of its locations are in Chattanooga.
