New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery and Naples, Fla.-based NCH Healthcare have started construction on an 80,000-square-foot orthopedic care facility on the NCH North Naples Hospital campus, according to a Nov. 10 report from South Florida Hospital News.
The center will offer inpatient and outpatient care and have an ASC on-site. The jointly owned and operated facility is expected to open to patients in early 2025.
HSS performs over 35,000 orthopedic surgical procedures annually, according to the report. In July, HHS and NCHappointed David Helfet, MD, as the site's executive medical director.
Thousands of Florida residents have traveled to New York for treatment at HSS, according to the report. With the new facility, patients will not have to travel for quality orthopedic care.
