Rishi Wadhwa, MD, of Shreveport, La.-based Specialists Hospital, completed the first implantation of Ventris Medical's Allocell AF allograft.
The procedure was a spinal fusion, according to an April 14 news release. Allocell AF was designed with broad, augmented bone fibers, and each lot underwent osteoinductivity verification.
"Allocell AF was easier to hydrate than the other grafts I have used in my practice and its handling characteristics made it very easy for me to tightly pack titanium interbody cages without being concerned about graft migration," Dr. Wadhwa said.
