A group of orthobiologics experts established a Delphi panel process to set treatment standards for an outpatient stem cell procedure known as bone marrow concentrate.
Three things to know:
1. The panel incorporates specialists from orthopedic surgery, interventional spine, sports medicine and pain management among others.
2. They will break down practice items such as informed consent, the use of image guidance and treatment registry, publishing results and advertising.
3. The panel features specialists from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.; Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City; Stanford (Calif.) University; and Harvard University in Boston, among others. Christopher Centeno, MD, chief medical officer of Regenexx, organized the panel.
