Florida hospital celebrates 1,000th robot-assisted orthopedic surgery

Bayfront Health Port Charlotte (Fla.) has performed more than 1,000 robot-assisted orthopedic surgeries, according to an April 1 announcement in yoursun.com.

The orthopedic surgery team is led by Nicholas Connors, MD, and Ronald Constine, MD. Robot-assisted technology has been used for hip and knee replacements at the hospital.

The hospital uses Stryker's Mako robotic arm, according to Bevin Holzschuh, marketing and PR director for Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.
