Think Surgical earned FDA 510(k) approval for its Tmini robotic system for total knee replacement, the company said May 30.
Tmini includes a wireless handpiece that assists surgeons during procedures, according to a news release. It uses a CT-based 3D surgical plan and helps with locating bone pins along precisely degined planes. The robot also has cutting guides to help with bone resection.
Think Surgical plans to add to its open implant library for surgeons using the Tmini robot.
"With its small footprint, open implant platform and intuitive workflow, the Tmini system opens up robotic possibilities for more clinics, operating rooms, and surgeons," CEO Stuart Simpson said in the release.
