Orthopedic implant and procedures company NextStep Arthropedix has launched the Preserve by NextStep, the first retractorless, assistantless anterior hip approach that eliminates soft tissue and bone injury.
The Preserve decreases the number of assistants required for hip replacements, improves operational efficiency and maximizes surgical reproducibility, according to a July 18 press release.
It requires one less person in the operating room, eliminates soft tissue disruption and is compatible with the company's Athello tables and competing direct anterior tables.
It provides a decreased surgical footprint, less bony trauma, cost savings and is ASC-friendly.
The Preserve technique was pioneered by Timothy Henderson, MD.
