Sanford Health Fargo (N.D.) has earned The Joint Commission's gold seal of approval for total hip replacement, total knee replacement, total shoulder replacement and hip fractures.
The gold seal is given to organizations that show a commitment to safe, quality patient care, according to a July 5 news release from the health system.
Sanford underwent a three-day, virtual site review that evaluated compliance with certification standards, program management, supporting self-management and delivering and facilitating clinical care.
Sanford was the first center in North Dakota to be certified by The Joint Commission for the aforementioned services, receiving that designation in 2013. The new certification is good for 24 months, the release said.
