The Children’s Hospital of Omaha has opened a new specialty pediatric clinic in Sioux City, Iowa, to treat children with serious and specified medical conditions local hospitals are not equipped to handle, Siouxland Public Media reported July 12.
The clinic opened July 12 under the leadership of Dr. Eyad Najdawi.
"Sioux City has always been underserved from a specialty standpoint. In pediatrics, we have no one in the specialty area," Dr. Najdawi told Siouxland Public Media.
"The goal was to have a place in Sioux City where the specialists will travel to Sioux City from Omaha," he said. "People from endocrine, GI, gastroenterologist, neurologist, pulmonologist, orthopedic, urologist. We will have as many as we can on a regular basis."
