Spine, orthopedic regenerative medicine firm curasan AG to appoint new CEO

The supervisory board of curasan AG appointed Torben Sorensen as the company's new CEO, effective Sept. 16.

Four things to know:

1. Current CEO Michael Schlenk requested early resignation from the company, whose contract ran through Sept. 30.

2. Mr. Sorensen is a Danish citizen living in Switzerland. He is a venture capital manager and turnaround specialist for high-tech companies.

3. Curasan AG develops biomaterials and medical devices for bone and tissue regeneration, wound healing and osteoarthritis.

4. The company's bone grafting materials have applications for the orthopedic, spine and dental fields.
