Mass General Brigham launches sports medicine program with 200+ physicians

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

More than 200 specialized physicians and surgeons will care for patients through Boston-based Mass General Brigham's new integrated, multidisciplinary sports medicine program.

The program will provide knee, shoulder, hip, hand and arm, and foot and ankle care from diagnosis through rehabilitation. It includes surgery, primary care, physical therapy and physiatry as well as specialized programs such as concussion care, regenerative care, sports psychology and women's sports medicine.

"We are expanding access to our network and making it easier for all patients — whether they are professional athletes, weekend warriors or just those who lead an active lifestyle — to get the resources and care they need to achieve and feel their best," Peter Asnis, MD, director of professional sports at the hospital, said in an Aug. 2 news release.

The hospital has created a sports medicine wellness and sports performance and research center as part of the program.

Patients can see specialists virtually or at locations throughout Mass General.
