Keith Meister, MD, is scheduled to operate on Los Angeles Angels reliever Justin Anderson July 22 in Texas, the Los Angeles Times reports.

2. Dr. Meister will reinforce Mr. Anderson's elbow tissue with a muscle, as opposed to replacing the torn ligament with a tendon from elsewhere in the body.

3. Dr. Meister is an orthopedic surgeon and the director of Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in Arlington. He also serves as head team physician for the Texas Rangers.
