From professional wrestlers to MLB players, several athletes have undergone spinal procedures so far in 2023. Here are four surgeons who have operated on professional athletes this year:
1. Andrew Cordover, MD, performed a one-level cervical spine fusion on World Wrestling Entertainment star Adam Scherr. He also performed a spine surgery on WWE's Robert Roode.
2. Spine surgeon Michael Duffy, MD, performed a microdiscectomy on professional golfer Will Zalatoris.
3. Robert Watkins, MD, performed surgery to repair a lower back disc on San Francisco Giants' baseball player Luis González.
4. Neurosurgeon Chad Prusmack, MD, performed back surgery on Mark Stone, a winger for the Vegas Golden Knights in the National Hockey League.
