Oren Gottfried, MD, is a spinal neurosurgeon at Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Hospital.
Dr. Gottfried specializes in all complex cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral spinal diseases. He has training in minimally invasive and standard surgical approaches. He received his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson and completed his residency at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City.
Dr. Gottfried also served as a medical consultant for TV medical dramas and recently wrote an episode of The Good Doctor, which aired April 26. He also made a cameo appearance on Chicago Med as an assistant neurosurgeon in 2019.
