Here are eight updates from orthopedic devicemakers since July 19:

1. Enovis launched the Arvis augmented reality system for hip and knee surgeries.

2. Bradley Niemann was named the CEO of Conventus Flower Orthopedics.

3. Orthopedic devicemaker Arthrex is partnering with Skytron to expand operating room technology.

4. Think Surgical signed a deal with Curexo to distribute its orthopedic technologies.

5. Conmed Corp. on Aug. 1 announced a definitive agreement to acquire Biorez, a startup focused on advancing the healing of soft tissue using its BioBrace implant technology. The acquisition would include $85 million at closing and up to an additional $165 million in growth-based earnout payments over the next four years.

6. Conformis, a company offering personalized hip and knee replacements, has signed a multiyear agreement with Vizient, a healthcare performance improvement company.

7. Gregory Berlet, MD, of Columbus, Ohio-based Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center, debuted Ossio's OSSIOfiber suture anchors in clinical practice.

8. Devicemaker Exactech is recalling 40,000 hip implants. The implants are being recalled over the failure of polyethylene liners, which could have been degraded due to oxygen exposure from nonconforming packaging.
