Richard Myers, MD, is an orthopedic trauma surgeon at Sentara Healthcare in Norfolk, Va., and Virginia Beach, Va.
Dr. Myers practices at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital as part of the Sentara Orthopedic Trauma Specialist team. He treats a range of open fractures, extremity injuries and bone infections.
Dr. Myers is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, an assistant professor at Norfolk-based Eastern Virginia Medical School, and a site director for chief residents at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (Va.) orthopedic residency program. He expects to be initiated as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons in October.
A graduate of Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School in Providence, R.I., Dr. Myers completed his residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland and underwent fellowship training at the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
