Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute adds simulators for sports medicine recovery

Orthopedic

The Orlando (Fla.) Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute has introduced a new soccer and golf simulator to help patients recovering from sports medicine injuries.

The simulator will give physicians real-time patient tracking data to guide patient treatment options and help get athletes back to competition, according to a July 30 press release sent to Becker's.

"A lot of times, patients are a bit fearful to return to the activity that caused their injury," Bryan Manarte, DPT, a physical therapist at Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, said in the release. "This allows them to test their swing or kick with their therapist at their side. We can then use the data to see what we need to work on next."
