Nashville-based Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance, Tennessee’s largest orthopedic surgery group, has added world-renowned hip surgeon J.W. Thomas Byrd, MD, to its team, according to an Oct. 28 report in the Williamson Herald.
Dr. Byrd performed the first hip arthroscopy in Nashville and serves as the team physician for the NFL's Tennessee Titans. He pioneered multiple surgical techniques for hip arthroscopy and invented influential orthopedic surgery instruments.
Dr. Byrd will begin seeing patients at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance's midtown location in Nashville on Nov. 1, according to the report.
