Surface Technology

Osseus Fusion Systems received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Aries 3D-printed titanium spinal implants, 3D Printing Industry reports.

Here are three things to know:

1. The Aries lumbar interbody fusion devices are developed using proprietary 3D-printing technology PL3XUS, which uses powder bed fusion to build titanium parts.

2. The implants are designed to adapt to different patient anatomies and have an 80 percent porosity.

3. Eric Hansen and Robert Pace co-founded Osseus in 2012 to develop products for spine injuries using emerging technologies such as additive manufacturing.
