Australian knee company secures $2.5M grant to produce 3D-printed implants: 3 notes

Kico Knee Innovation Company won a $2.5 million grant to create patient-specific total knee replacement implants, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.

Here are three things to know:

1. The New South Wales (Australia) Medical Devices Fund awarded the grant. The NSW MDF invests in the development and commercialization of promising medical devices and technologies.

2. Kico Knee Innovation plants to use the funding to better position itself to break into the U.S. market.

3. The Kico Knee Innovation Company was among seven winners of the $9.85 million in NSW government grants. The company received the largest grant.
