Kirk McCullough, MD, performed surgery on Sporting Kansas City and U.S. Men's National Team veteran Graham Zusi, the MLS franchise announced Oct. 21.
Three things to know:
1. The surgery, performed at Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute in Leawood, repaired a midfoot sprain in the soccer player's left foot.
2. Mr. Zusi will miss the rest of the MLS season, with rehabilitation expected to take four to five months.
3. Dr. McCullough completed a shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C., and a Cleveland Clinic fellowship in foot and ankle surgery before joining Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Clinic of Kansas City in Leawood in 2014.
