Dr. Keith Meister treats Blue Jays closer for elbow injury

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Keith Meister, MD, director of Arlington-based Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery, treated Toronto Blue Jays closer Ken Giles, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

An MRI showed no structural damage to Mr. Giles' elbow. However, Dr. Meister treated the pitcher with a cortisone shot. This is the third time since June that Mr. Giles had issues with his elbow.

Dr. Meister is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon and head team physician for the Texas Rangers.

He is also director of sports medicine of Medical City Arlington in Texas.
