Penn Medicine's Arsh Dhanota, MD, was appointed chief medical officer for the Philadelphia Eagles. He replaces non-operative sports physician, Stephen Stache, MD, of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute in Philadelphia, who left the posts of head team physician and head internist after one season.
Michael Murphy, DO, an orthopedic and sports medicine physician of Downers Grove, Ill.-based DuPage Medical Group, was hired as the head team physician for the Joliet Slammers, a professional baseball team in the independent Frontier League.
Orthopedic surgeon at Emory Sports Medicine Center in North Druid Hills, Ga., Kyle Hammond, MD, was hired as head team physician for the Atlanta Falcons. He serves as the head orthopedic surgeon for the Atlanta Hawks and associate team physician for the Atlanta Braves, Georgia Tech, Emory University and several high schools, all based in Atlanta.
