Dr. Christopher Ahmad to perform season-ending shoulder surgery on Yankees 3rd baseman

Christopher Ahmad, MD, is set to perform right shoulder labrum repair surgery on New York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, reports the MLB.

Dr. Ahmad is the head team physician for the Yankees and professor of orthopedic surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City.

He is board-certified in orthopedic sports medicine and specializes in knee ACL, cartilage injuries, Tommy John surgery and labral tears among other sports-related injuries.

Dr. Ahmad earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine in New York City and completed residencies at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/CUMC and New York Orthopedic Hospital.
