Edwin Su, MD, successfully completed hip resurfacing surgery on Anaheim Ducks center Ryan Kesler on May 9 in New York, reports NHL.

Kesler is likely to miss the entire 2019-20 season during his recovery from the procedure — which is less invasive than full replacement surgery. His recovery is likely to take months.

Dr. Su earned his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College in Ithaca, N.Y. He completed his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, N.Y., and fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

He has a particular interest in utilizing new technology to achieve best results for active patients with hip and knee arthritis, offering both surgical and non-surgical treatments.
