New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery expanded its collaboration with the Aspen Institute's Sports & Society Program through 2025.

Three things to know:

1. HSS is now the exclusive sponsor of the Sports & Society Program in the musculoskeletal medical and surgical service and hospital categories.

2. In 2018, HSS teamed up with the Aspen Institute to develop their Healthy Sport Index, the first tool that assesses the benefits and risks of participating in popular high school sports based on data and expert insights.

"We are aligned with the Sports & Society Program's mission to convene leaders, foster dialogue and inspire solutions that focus on the development of healthy children and communities," said Laura Robbins, senior vice president of the HSS Education Institute. "Since 2015, our HSS Sports Safety Program has been working to keep young athletes in the game by providing educational courses to help prevent injuries.”

3. The HSS Education Institute’s online learning platform offers more than 600 courses to more than 21,000 medical professionals worldwide.
