New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery sports medicine physician Vijay Vad, MD, is now using Healcerion's Sonon 300L device to accelerate the diagnostic process with real-time image sharing.
Three things to know:
1. The Sonon 300L is an FDA-approved handheld wireless app-driven ultrasound. The device uses touch-screen controls with a downloadable app for iOS or Android smartphones or tablets.
2. Dr. Vad uses the pocket-sized handheld device for patients with tennis elbow, Achilles and patellar tendon and rotator cuff issues.
3. He developed a 15-minute outpatient procedure called carboplasty, which uses a patient's own bone marrow-derived stem cells for knee osteoarthritis management.
