Spine surgeon shake ups in August

Here are four spine surgeons who joined new practices or added to their titles in August:

Note: This is not an exhaustive list.

1. Inspire Medical Systems announced Aug. 1 that Charisse Sparks, MD, an orthopedic trauma surgeon and chief medical officer of AppliedVR, was added to the company's board of directors.

 

2. Sheeraz Qureshi, MD, will take on the role of co-chief of the Hospital for Special Surgery's musculoskeletal care center in New York City, effective Oct. 1, 2022. He is replacing Harvinder S. Sandhu, MD, who will serve as co-chief emeritus and medical director of the hospital's orthopedics division with the hospital's Fairfield, Conn., location.

 

3. Adam Kanter, MD, left his chief of spine surgery and a tenured professor position at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Aug. 5 to join Hoag Specialty Clinic in Newport Beach, Calif., as chief of neurosurgery and associate executive medical director of the Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute.

 

4. Spinal robot specialist Evan Lytle, DO, joined Spectrum Health Lakeland Neurosurgery in St. Joseph, Mich., Aug. 5.
