Alexandre Rasouli, MD, reportedly performed the first spine surgery with Centinel Spine's new angled endplates intended for the prodisc L lumbar total disc replacement system.

The endplates are designed to shift the lordotic angle of the implant to the inferior endplate, expanding the options to address lumbar anatomy and pathology.

"This invention makes the benefits of motion preservation technology even more accessible to a broader range of patients," Dr. Rasouli, of Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Spine Center, said in a Dec. 15 news release.

The release includes six endplate options for prodisc L.

A full market release is planned for early 2021.
