Neurosurgeon Nir Lipsman, MD, PhD, was honored in Canada's Top 40 Under 40 list for 2020, published Oct. 29.
Three things to know:
1. More than 1,000 people were nominated for the list, which recognizes outstanding achievements of Canadians under the age of 40.
2. Dr. Lipsman is a neurosurgeon at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto and assistant professor in the department of surgery at the University of Toronto.
3. He has led several clinical trials exploring the use of deep brain stimulation and focused ultrasound for the treatment of complex neurological conditions.
