NewYork-Presbyterian Queens announces new chief of neurological surgery

New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian Queens named John Park, MD, new chief of neurological surgery, according to a report on QNS, a local online news source. 

Dr. Park was recruited from Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, Calif., where he founded and served as the medical director of the hospital's brain and spinal program. In addition to his new role as chief of neurological surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, Dr. Park will be a professor of neurological surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.

Dr. Park's practice focuses on treating brain and spinal tumors as well as degenerative spine disease. He has experience as the principal neurosurgeon for patients enrolled in the National Cancer Institute clinical trials for malignant gliomas.

Throughout his career, Dr. Park has earned awards from the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his residency in neurosurgery at Harvard and Brigham and Women's Hospital, also in Boston.
