Scoliosis tethering system advances to final of pediatric device competition

Spino Modulation's anterior vertebral body tethering for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis has reached the final of the "Make Your Medical Device Pitch for Kids!" competition, according to

Ten finalists will compete for up to $50,000 in FDA-funded grants in a virtual event Oct. 7.

Hosted by the National Capital Consortium for Pediatric Device Innovation, the competition aims to promote innovations in pediatric specialties and push the innovations toward commercialization.

Montreal, Canada-based Spino Modulation's scoliosis system is the only spine device in the final.

Other innovations in the final are designed for the orthopedic, cardiovascular and neonatal ICU fields.
