Dr. Robert Holtzman to receive Lifetime Achievement Award for contribution to neurosurgery

Attending neurosurgeon at Neurological Surgery PC in New Hyde Park, N.Y., Robert N. Holtzman, MD, has been chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award by the International Association of Top Professionals for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the field, reports Life Pulse Health.

Six things to know:

1. Dr. Holtzman is board-certified in neurosurgery, psychiatry and neurology, and has over 40 years of professional experience as a neurosurgeon and clinical professor.

2. His areas of neurosurgery expertise include cranial, spinal and peripheral nerve surgery.

3. He earned his medical degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City and went on to become a resident in neurology at the Neurological Institute of New York in New York City.

4. In 2018 he was honored as Top Neurosurgeon of the Year by the IAOTP and awarded the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.

5. Dr. Holtzman is also a respected speaker and author. He was the editor for The Tethered Spinal Cord, Surgery of the Diencephalon, Surgery of the Spinal Cord: The Potential for Regeneration and Recovery and Spinal Instability and has published Endovascular Interventional Neuroradiology.

6. Longevity in the industry, contributions to society and impact on the field are all considered when selecting an honoree for the IAOTP's Lifetime Achievement Award.
