Zimmer Biomet Executive Vice President and CFO Suketu Upadhyay was elected to Vertex's board of directors.
Mr. Upadhyay has held his leadership positions at Zimmer Biomet since July 2019, according to a May 18 news release. He previously worked at medtech companies including Bristol Myers Squibb, Endo International and Johnson & Johnson.
His appointment brings Vertex's board of directors to 11 members, the release said. Vertex is a biotechnology company focused on treatments for conditions including cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes and sickle cell disease.
