Wenzel Spine names CEO, SeaSpine's new leadership and more: 9 device company notes

Camber Spine's latest patent and eight more updates from spine and orthopedic devicemakers in the last week:

1. Camber Spine received a notice of allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its Variant Retractor.

2. Stryker on April 28 posted $4.3 billion in first-quarter net sales and saw 5.1 percent growth in its orthopedics and spine business.

3. Smith+Nephew saw a slight revenue uptick in the first quarter of 2022; meanwhile, its sports medicine and joint repair segment jumped with double-digit growth.

4. Spine devicemaker TeDan Surgical released the Phantom UL ZeroATP surgical access system designed for anterior approaches.

5. Genesys Spine is partnering with Pria Healthcare to improve patient coverage for its sacroiliac joint fusion products.

6. Wenzel Spine appointed William Wilson as CEO almost two months after the devicemaker's former CEO died.

7. SeaSpine's first-quarter sales grew across its spinal implants and orthobiologics, and the company named new leadership.

8. Medical device company Zimmer Biomet reported $1.7 billion in net sales during the first quarter of 2022.

9. Data for a two-year trial of Stryker's InSpace subacromial balloon found the device was a viable option for patients with massive, irreparable rotator cuff tears.
