Hawaii hospital acquiring $2.3M+ surgical robot

Kuakini Medical Center in Honolulu plans to acquire a surgical robot system, according to documents filed with the state.

Three quick details:

1. The robot system costs $2,362,000.

2. Kuakini Medical Center was awarded a certificate of need April 6.

3. Hawaii's State Health Planning and Development Agency found that there is a public need for the surgical robot, and that the cost of the proposal isn't unreasonable based on the benefits it will deliver.
