WVU Medicine Camden Clark and PARS Brain and Spine Institute partnered to acquire Globus Medical's Excelsius Robot, a minimally invasive spine operating robot, the Parkersburg News and Sentinel reports.
What you should know:
1. The Parkersburg, W.Va.-based organizations began using the robot Nov. 20.
2. They believe they are the first hospital in West Virginia to have the robotic system, which combines computer-assisted navigation with a robotic arm.
3. Two PARS physicians joined Camden Clark to use the robot.
4. Globus is expected to add additional capabilities to the robot system as technology evolves.
