IU Health orthopedic expansion will include ASC, 8 more physicians

Orthopedic

Muncie-based Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital's orthopedic center is getting a dedicated ASC and will hire eight physicians over the next five years, the Muncie Star Press reported July 30.

The center will be near the hospital and include an orthopedic practice, physical therapy, occupational therapy and imaging. It's expected to open by the first quarter of 2023.

Surgeons including Rory Sandberg, MD, and Kevin Sonn, MD, will join the practice. Although the center hasn't been built, the practice will start operating out of a temporary location in September.

The hospital has not yet provided an estimated cost for the project.
