15 orthopedic surgeons on the move in June

Here are 15 orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine physicians who joined new practices or received new appointments in June:

Wael Barsoum, MD, began transitioning out of his post as CEO of Cleveland Clinic Florida to join HOPCo, the owner of orthopedic specialty practices including Phoenix-based the CORE Institute.

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society has named Charles Saltzman, MD, editor-in-chief of Foot & Ankle International and Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics. He will assume full responsibility for the role Jan. 1.

Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics appointed Eric Grossman, MD, to co-lead the practice's growth in the New York market.

Jennifer Hopp, MD, was tapped to lead the women's sports medicine program at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Portsmouth (N.H.) Outpatient Center.

Major League Soccer franchise Nashville Soccer Club recruited Jaron Sullivan, MD, and Andrew Gregory, MD, as team physicians.

Jeffrey Vakil, MD, joined Premier Orthopaedics in Chestnut Hill.

Douglas Comeau, DO, was appointed director of University Health Services and primary care sports medicine at Boston College.

Christina Hardesty, MD, was appointed to the board of directors of the Hattie Larlham Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Manitowoc, Wis.-based Holy Family Memorial Lakeshore Orthopaedics added John Trotter, MD, to its surgical staff.

Jennifer Bruggers, MD, and Gary Stewart, MD, of Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics were elected members of the American Orthopaedic Association.

Charles Pesson, MD, joined the medical staff at St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Ky.

UPMC recruited Kyle Hubler, DO, a hip and knee replacement specialist.

Fort Collins, Colo.-based Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies onboarded George Le, DPM.
