Here are three NFL teams that have acquired new orthopedic partners in the last year:
Denver Broncos: The Broncos recently hired Karim Meijer, MD, as head orthopedic surgeon. He will join head coach Sean Payton and athletic trainer Beau Lowery, both of whom he worked with on a former NFL team.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints recently lost head orthopedic surgeon Dr. Meijer as he transitioned to the Broncos. The team has yet to announce a head orthopedic surgeon replacement for the role. However, the team also receives orthopedic care from Ochsner Sports Medicine Institute specialist W. Stephen Choate, MD.
Philadelphia Eagles: In July, the Eagles named Peter DeLuca, MD, as head orthopedic physician for the 2024 season. Dr. DeLuca sees patients at Livingston (N.J.) Surgery Center.
