Gus Barrazueta, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Adena Health System in Chillicothe, Ohio, was fired amid accusations of sexual harassment and illegal drug use, the Scioto Valley Guardian reported Aug. 8.
Dr. Barrazueta was accused of sending explicit text messages to a former employee and grabbing her, the report said. More former employees came forward with their own allegations of harassment.
Text messages also found Dr. Barrazueta admitted he used illegal drugs during a recent trip to Las Vegas.
Adena, in a memo shared with staff, said The Adena Orthopedic and Spine Institute is working with patients to maintain continuity of care.
