From professional golfers to baseball players, here are seven athletes who will miss or end their 2023 sports seasons early due to orthopedic injuries: 

1. Professional golfer Will Zalatoris will pull out of the remainder of the PGA season following a microdiscectomy. 

2. Philadelphia Phillies infielder Rhys Hoskins will miss the Major League Baseball season following a reconstructive surgery on his left anterior cruciate ligament.

3. New York Mets pitcher Edwin Díaz will miss the Major League Baseball season following surgery on his right knee. 

4. Washington Nationals pitcher Cade Cavalli will miss the Major League Baseball season following a reconstructive elbow surgery. 

5. Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov ended his National Hockey League season early due to a knee surgery. 

6. Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Gavin Lux will miss the Major League Baseball season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his right knee. 

7. Professional soccer player Matt Miazga missed his preseason due to an entrapped hip nerve.
