Orthopedic

From California to South Dakota, here are four orthopedic supercenters in the western half of the U.S. that have been planned in the last year.

1. Valley View (Glenwood Springs, Colo.) is opening a new orthopedic ASC in Basalt, Colo. The ASC will have over 6,700 square feet of space and will include a Stryker Mako robotic arm. The center will specialize in simple fractures, sports medicine, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery and outpatient knee and hip joint replacements.

2. Orthopedic Institute (Sioux Falls, S.D.) is opening a location in Delapre Township. The two-story building will take up 70,000 square feet of space. The Orthopedic Institute has 19 physicians working in Sioux Falls and at an additional 14 satellite locations.

3. Advanced Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (San Francisco) has acquired a former theater in San Francisco with plans to convert part of it into an orthopedic facility. The new facility will house a 3,824-square-foot medical office space for the practice and a 3,418-square-foot orthopedic ASC.

4. Banner Health (Phoenix) broke ground on a $54 million facility in Scottsdale, Ariz. The 80,000-square-foot facility will house orthopedic and sports medicine services as well as an outpatient surgery center. The project was announced in 2020 and is slated to open in 2023.
