Dr. Neal ElAttrache to perform knee surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers' infielder

Orthopedic

Neal ElAttrache, MD, is set to perform knee surgery on Gavin Lux, a shortstop for Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Dodgers.

Mr. Lux suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a sprained lateral collateral ligament in his right knee during a spring training game on Feb. 27.

Dr. ElAttrache is the head team physician for the Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams, the city's National Football League franchise. He also serves as an orthopedic consultant to National Hockey League teams the Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks and the National Basketball Association's Los Angeles Lakers.

The surgery is set to take place on March 7 in Los Angeles to allow for swelling in the knee to subside.

The recovery time is expected to be six to nine months, which will likely cause Mr. Lux to miss the entirety of the 2023 season.
