How 1 orthopedic MSO grew in 2022

Growth Orthopedics, a management services organization, had a busy 2022 from adding new surgeons at its partner practices to growing its online presence, according to its 2022 annual report.

Seven things to know:

1. Growth Orthopedics hired five team members and one intern. New hires in 2022 include COO Nicole Johanson, CFO Madhavi Rampalli and senior financial analyst Ranjit Singh.

2. The company partnered with DynamiX Web Design to bolster its digital presence and build its website.

3. New faces at Lexington, Ky.-based Bluegrass Orthopaedics include Victor Marwin, MD; Eric Schafer, MD; Charles Crouse, MD, and Graysen Petersen-Fitts, MD.

4. Bluegrass Orthopaedics was recognized by the Herald Leader as the "Best of Lexington" for orthopedic surgery.

5. Bluegrass Orthopaedics Specialty Surgery Center saw an 11 percent increase in surgeries compared to 2021. A new location for BSSC broke ground in July and is expected to open in 2024.

6. The MSO added Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin in Texas. That practice added orthopedic surgeons Harrison Kay, MD, and Pedro Cosculluela, MD.

Bluegrass Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Specialists of Austin saw more than 28,000 new patients combined and more than 100,000 7. total appointments combined in 2022.
