What Rothman Orthopaedic Institute did in the first half of 2021

A CEO shake-up and a growing Florida foothold are among the major moves Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute made so far in 2021.

Here are five key things to know about the practice in the last six months:

1. Rothman added three orthopedic physicians at its Florida location in January: Daryl Osbahr, MD; Alfredo Arrojas, MD, and D. Harrison Youmans, MD. 

2. Officials broke ground in February for Rothman's Florida headquarters. The 12-story medical office building is a partnership with Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth. The practice continued its expansion in Florida and opened a location in Winter Park in July.

3. Michael West retired as CEO and stepped down March 31. In April, Christopher Olivia, MD, was named Rothman's new CEO.

4. Rothman expanded its New York and New Jersey footprints. It opened a flagship New York office witn nine physicians and locations in Brick and Hamilton, N.J.

5. Rothman strengthened its relationships with payers in Florida. It contracted with Cigna for in-network value-based care and Aetna for in-network care.
