California hospital postpones orthopedic procedures, offers $10 televisits

Practice Management

Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka, Calif., suspended elective orthopedic surgeries to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, reports The Siskiyou Daily.

The hospital, which features six orthopedic providers, will maintain clinical follow-ups for post-surgical patients.

Pivoting to telehealth, Fairchild Express Care will temporarily offer online appointments at a $10 flat fee.

The primary care clinic at the hospital will continue services but providers are reviewing schedules to decrease exposure to the coronavirus where possible.
