Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health and Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health System signed an agreement Jan. 28 to jointly own a rehabilitation hospital for orthopedic and neurologic conditions.
University of Iowa Health Network Rehabilitation Hospital, a 40-bed inpatient facility, is under construction in Coralville, Iowa.
The center will assist patients in their recovery of several orthopedic and neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries and amputations.
The hospital is set to open in the second quarter of this year.
