Former bookkeeper pleads not guilty to stealing $1.5M from California orthopedic practice

A former bookkeeper with California Orthopedic Specialists pleaded not guilty to stealing $1.5 million from the practice, reports Patch.

The woman is accused of 36 counts of grand theft with sentencing-enhancement allegations of aggravated white collar crime exceeding $500,000.

The allegations relate to when the woman was employed by the Newport Beach, Calif., practice between August 2014 to July 2017.

The woman is due back in court Oct. 21.
